These are 2 of my latest small paintings. I am starting to work on a solo show scheduled for the Marigold Centre in Truro for September 2012. Not sure if these 2 will make it to the show, I have plans for several large paintings, the space is a beautiful small gallery with good lighting right in the heart of Truro.

Animal Art Zipper Pulls

Pictured here is a sampling of my line of Animal Art Zipper Pulls. I make these individually from Birch Plywood, hand sanded and hand painted with Acrylic paint and varnished to protect against the elements. I specialize in assorted breeds of dogs, cats, horses, cattle and other domesticated animals. They may be custom ordered from me and are currently available at Posh Puppy Pet Salon on Ryland Avenue in Bible Hill, NS, Raining Cats and Dogs in Calgary, Alberta and Elfstone in Snohomish, Washington.

Every now and then, well maybe a bit more than that, I have to put the paint brushes aside and mix up some cookies. And since Valentines Day was this week, naturally Chocolate Cupcakes seemed very appropriate as well. The sugar cookies are a recipe I have been making since Mrs Gillis Home Economics class in I think maybe Grade 8...they are perfect for big batch baking or small and my 3 nephews are all big fans. The little pinch of nutmeg is perfect. I have been trying to roll them a little thicker the past few bakings, and large cutters are useful. I made them for a wedding last summer and for the River View Herbs Look Off Gallery open house in November. They are enhanced by some icing but just as tasty plain. And what can I say about the chocolate cupcakes....lots of cocoa powder and buttercream frosting.
Stay tuned for more paintings, they are all available from me right now!

Cleopatra the Studio cat has been keeping a close eye on my latest attempts to knit a scarf. January 2011 was the first time I picked up knitting needles and through the expert guidance of my good friend Traci, I actually completed 2 scarves. A year has passed and it took me a bit of time to actually remember what I should be doing, but here I am back practicing my knitting on yet another scarf. And with lots of thanks to my friends and family who gave me some yarn and some needles and even a basket!! Perhaps the next project should be a scarf for Cleo herself...
Stay tuned here for more artwork soon. I am back working on some landscapes in acrylic, pastel and maybe even some colour pencil.
